Get to know the leafy, historical suburbs of Newlands and Rondebosch, and visit well-known Cape Town landmarks like the beautiful University of Cape Town, Rhodes Memorial and Newlands Rugby Stadium.
The meeting place is Forries – an authentic, old-style English pub in the heart of Newlands – with the idea that we will spoil ourselves afterwards with some well-deserved post-run beer tasting!
Our run takes us up and up and into the lovely Newlands Forest – where we cover some trails & take in the awesome views of the city – before reaching Rhodes Memorial to find out more about the legendary mining magnate and founder of the country formerly known as Rhodesia, Cecil John Rhodes.
We then meander our way back down the slopes of the mountain through the University of Cape Town and run along the scenic Liesbeeck parkway, past Newlands rugby and cricket stadiums, with an optional visit to the Newlands Brewery*.
