FAQ

WHAT IS A RUNNING TOUR?

A running tour with Run Cape Town-Sightseeing on the Run is a guided sightseeing tour that takes place on the run, jogging through the streets of Cape Town. It is guided by an experienced local running guide. We have a number of running tours that we offer in/around Cape Town, or you can contact us to custom-design your very own Run Cape Town running tour.

DO WE STOP BY THE MAJOR CAPE TOWN ATTRACTIONS ON THE RUN?

Yes!  At times your running guide will share information about the landmarks you are passing on the run, and at other times you may have short stops by the major attractions while the running guide talks about the history of the area, or to share a few anecdotes.

WHAT IF IT IS RAINING, WILL THE TOUR STILL GO AHEAD?

As we enjoy a fairly mild climate in Cape Town, our running tours will go ahead, rain or shine. However, in very severe weather (to be determined by your guide) you will be offered to return at a later time or to postpone your running tour for another day. Postponing the tour is only at the discretion of the guide and tours will usually go ahead, even if it is raining.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?

Your running guide will carry water for you, as well as a camera and a backpack to carry small personal items such as keys.  Guides are unable to carry larger items so you should come prepared for this and bring your own backpack if necessary. Please note that our guides cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage to your belongings.

WHAT IF I WANT TO CANCEL MY BOOKING?

We offer a full refund on cancellations made at least 48hrs before the start of your Run Cape Town running tour and a 90% refund on cancellations made at least 24hrs before the start of your tour. Simply call us or email us within the required notice period and we will refund you using your original method of payment. Unfortunately no refunds can be given for cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice, but please contact us as soon as you can and we will, where possible, offer you an alternative day or time that suits you.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO TAKE PICTURES ALONG THE WAY?

Yes, you can bring along your camera and snap away, however the running guide will also take pictures along the route, and the pictures will be sent to you via a dropbox album after your run.  If there is a certain place you would like your picture taken, then simply ask your guide.

HOW FAST ARE THE RUNNING TOURS? DO I HAVE TO BE AN EXPERIENCED RUNNER TO PARTICIPATE AND HOW WILL I KEEP UP WITH THE GUIDE?

At Run Cape Town we aim to keep the running tours small and personal, with the idea that the participants run at a pace that is comfortable to them, for the clients’ desired distance.  As we are doing a running tour, a minimal level of fitness is required to be able to run the requested distance, however the distance, pace and frequency of stops is up to the participants involved in the running tour.
