First ever SA Adventure Summit

IMG_2569Last week Run Cape Town – Sightseeing on the Run – had the privilege of attending the very first SA Adventure Summit organised by Dirty Boots, “the definitive guide to the best adventure holidays and outdoor adventure activities in South Africa and the kingdoms of Swaziland and Lesotho”.IMG_2615

The summit was held in the Western Cape, in the beautiful Elgin Valley, with events happening at Kunguru Lodge as well as Trails End.  The idea was ‘to bring South Africa’s adventure community together to assist in creating a highly-driven and professional industry.  South Africa is fast becoming one of the top adventure destinations in the world with a vast variety of activities offered by hundreds of operators’.  We at Run Cape Town are proud to be associated with this passionate, professional and fun bunch of adventure tourism providers!

IMG_2614Day 1 of the summit started off with an opportunity for delegates to participate in one of the 100s of adventure activities on offer in the Western Cape, from snorkelling with seals to side car adventures to bicycle tours, food and wine tours, quad biking tours, canopy tours, sea kayaking and river paddling tours to diving with great white sharks – it is quite insane the diversity of fun-filled adventure right on our doorstep here in the Western Cape!IMG_2602

Run Cape Town was lucky enough to have the opportunity of providing early morning trail runs for delegates on the conference, and we had 2 beautiful early morning trail runs on the beautiful trails at Trails End on Day 2 and Day 3 of the summit… Thank to everybody who joined us for these early morning running sessions 🙂
