Summer has arrived in Cape Town!

… with long sunny days and highs of 28 degrees … and things are hotting up at Run Cape Town  🙂 City running tour

We’ve been enjoying the company of a bunch of international running friends, from Switzerland to Norway, Tokyo to the States 😉  and we are set to get even busier over the next few weeks…

Our trail running guru Alana came back from conquering the Ultra Trail Mont Blanc, ready & fired up to take Whitney & Brandon on a beautiful run through Newlands, mixing some trail – through Newlands forest – as well as tar through UCT, along the Liesbeeck River and past the Newlands rugby stadium.  Our intrepid runners ended the tour with a beer tasting at the Nouveau Cellar at Forries.  Sadly it was a bit rainy & wet for this run, but we can’t actually think of a better way to spend a rainy Sunday afternoon in Cape Town!

Running in Cape TownMaria and I had a beautiful 16km run in False Bay, and we can happily report that the fire damage from February is almost non-existent now ….  the winter rains have resulted in really prolific Spring flowers & the mountains above Muizenberg are looking lush & colourful again, so much so that we actually lost the path & had to follow a river path up & over the mountain!  We were also lucky enough to see an awesome catch come in from the Kalk Bay Harbour… A really lovely run!Running in Cape Town

We are always happy to invite old running friends back to Cape Town and on Saturday Kate & Paddy (from Ireland) were back for another epic running tour, this time conquering 30km of Cape Town coastline from Camps Bay to Hot Bay and back, in 2 hours 48 minutes, well done chaps!

Watch out for our next Gugs Run, happening on Saturday 31 October – we hope to see you all there!
